Affordable Care Act
and Covered California

The Affordable Care Act was signed in 2010, passing the law to increase health insurance coverage amongst Americans. The California Health Benefit Exchange- Covered California– was created to increase the number of Californians with health insurance coverage while reducing the costs of coverage. Winters Healthcare is your community resource ensuring you are aware of your health coverage options available to you and your family.

Healthcare reform expanded the number of people eligible who can obtain healthcare at negotiated rates and possibly provide a subsidy for people under 400% of the federal poverty level (a family of 4 that makes less than $97,200 a year). It also expanded the number of people who are eligible for Medi-Cal (a family of 4 that makes less than $36,450 a year).

Winters Healthcare is a Certified Enrollment Entity through Redwood Community Health Coalition and is your resource for help understanding your insurance options. We are able to provide Certified Enrollment Counselors to those who need help with choosing and enrolling in the health plans available.
