This is a photo of juice, fresh fruits and vegetables. I think that fresh juice is a good way to help our bodies feel good and stay healthy. Everyone should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and pay more attention to what we are giving our bodies. I think the community needs more nutrition education.
Eso es una foto de jugo, frutas y vegetales frescos. Yo pienso que el jugo fresco es una buena manera de ayudar a nuestro cuerpo a sentirse bien y que tenga salud. Deberíamos todos comer más fruta y vegetales frescas y tener mas conciencia de lo que estamos dando a nuestro cuerpo. Yo pienso que nuestra comunidad necesita más educación de nutrición.

This is a project at the Winters High School agriculture site. 150 watermelons were grown and many of them were donated to the Yolo County Food Bank. This was a hands on project that gave students an opportunity to work the land and develop leadership skills. This student pictured shared his experience in the project with children of all ages that live on his block.
Eso es un proyecto en el campo de agricultura de la escuela preparatoria de Winters. Cultivaron 150 sandias y muchas fueron donadas al Banco de Comida del Condado de Yolo. Este fue un proyecto manual y les dio a los estudiantes la oportunidad para trabajar con la tierra y desarrollar habilidades de liderazgo. Este estudiante en la foto compartió su experiencia en el proyecto con niños de todas las edades que viven en su barrio.

This is one of the watermelons in my community garden plot. This is the first year of our community garden. By providing a space for a community garden, the City of Winters shows support for the health and well being of its residents. A community garden encourages healthy eating habits. It also promotes comradeship among the members of the garden as we share our abundances with one another.
Esta es una sandia en mi parcela en el jardín comunitario de Winters. Este es el primer año de cosecha en el jardín. Para dar un espacio y tener un jardín comunitario, la Ciudad de Winters esta apoyando la salud y bienestar de sus residentes. Un jardín comunitario anima a tener hábitos alimenticos saludables. We can encourage more people to grow their own food. Not only is it healthier, but it is a great pastime. We could have information that informs people about seasonal produce that they can easily grow in Winters.

This is a picture of chilies and other vegetables in the community garden. It gives people an opportunity to grow their own vegetables. A lot of people in Winters live in small residencies where they do not have a place to grow a garden. This garden gives people an opportunity to have healthy food at a low price. We should expand the garden so that more people have an opportunity to live a healthy life.

I took this picture to show that we all need a small space where we can have our own farm/garden. There is a lot that we can do when we set our mind to it. In this small backyard farm I have access to the healthiest meat for my children. This is a good way to eat better.
Saque esta foto para que notaran que se necesita un espacio pequeño para crear su propia granja. Hay mucho que se puede hacer cuando uno se lo propone. En esta pequeña granja tengo la carne más saludable para mis hijos y es una buena forma de comer mejor.

This is my garden of organic vegetables that provides healthy food for my family. This photo is to show that we can change how we nourish ourselves. I would like more information to be given to people so that they can learn that they can live better by having their own garden. We need more backyard gardens and more community garden space.
